 I'm very excited to show you my favorite product that we currently have in our store.  In fact, I can't stop playing with it!  Golden Acrylics is now making a 14 piece Acrylic Explorer Set!

When you first start painting, whether you're taking lessons or teaching yourself, new artists tend not to layer paints or think of the paints as having multiple consistencies.  Here at Kate's Art School, we use fluid paint when working with new artists because they're a tiny bit transparent from the get-go.  (That very fact is a unique aspect of our painting program. Looking to learn Acrylics?  We're currently enrolling two great adult classes, that welcomes beginners!)  But even fluid paints can become more transparent with the aid of mediums.  Mediums don't only make paint translucent, they can also add elements of sheen like gloss or matte finishes, thickness like with gel or paste, or even texture like with sand or beads.
