Kate’s Is Built Different

Our classes are different...any of our long time students will tell you that. We are a technique-based school of art.  At each session, I introduce students to a new technique within a given medium and we build upon those techniques over the course of your time with me. The more you practice these techniques and work on your mastery of them, the better of an artist you will be.

This is why:

Being an artist is just like any other learned activity in your life! For example: at six years old you learned to ride a bike.  You practiced riding your bike everyday and probably by the end of the summer you were a master bike rider. You could accelerate, brake, and navigate obstacles with ease and without crashing and at some point, it even became second-nature.

I want all of my students to be masters of art. You have to have the drive and motivation to do it, but I’m right there cheering you on and helping you through the tough lessons. In order for that to keep happening, you need to keep taking classes, and I invite you to continue taking the same classes over and over again. Each time, I teach things differently. I even pick up new ideas on how to teach and can expound on techniques in a new way, each time I offer the class. I also offer extensions for intermediate and advanced students in all of my classes, in order to keep you interested and continuing your education consistently, in the ways your are ready for.

My school is different than a typical classroom because I can meet you where you are and tailor the class to you!
